Redefining Strategic Priorities: Shaping Our Future Together

The School District of Cudahy's strategic plan, established with four priority areas—Students Graduate Future Ready, Highly-Satisfied & Engaged Staff, Highly-Satisfied & Engaged Families & Community, and Safe & Efficient School & District Operations—is scheduled for review in 2026.

Given the district's pressing challenges—funding shortfalls, declining enrollment, excess space, and high maintenance costs—the review process will be divided into two phases:

  • Phase 1: Safe & Efficient School & District Operations
This phase will address immediate operational and facility-related needs, ensuring the district operates efficiently and sustainably.

  • Phase 2: Students Graduate Future Ready; Highly-Satisfied & Engaged Staff; Highly-Satisfied & Engaged Families & Community
This phase will focus on ensuring students are prepared for the future and strengthening satisfaction and engagement among staff, families, and the broader community.

By structuring the review into these phases, the district can prioritize urgent operational needs while ensuring that all strategic priorities are addressed thoughtfully and effectively.

Recently held two community engagement sessions on October 30th and November 7th at Cudahy High School. These sessions brought together parents, community members, and business partners to help shape the district’s vision and guide decision-making for the next ten years.

The strategic plan developed from this input will be reviewed and updated annually to ensure flexibility and responsiveness to emerging circumstances, allowing the district to adapt to new challenges and opportunities as they arise. The input gathered during these sessions will directly inform Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the district’s strategic plan review, addressing immediate operational needs and long-term priorities.
