The Cudahy Fire and Police Departments will host a free community safety event on Saturday, October 14, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:30 p.m., at McDonald's of Cudahy, 6163 S. Packard Ave. The event will allow families to see the many safety resources available in Cudahy. Those who attend will have fun learning about crime prevention and fire safety.
There will be fire engines, ambulances, Command Unit, tactical vehicles, Air National Guard Vehicles, SWAT Armored Vehicle, and squad cars. Firefighters, paramedics,police officers, sheriff deputies, and FBI Personnel will oversee the display area.
Guided tours through the Survive Alive House will teach children how to escape a
smoke-filled building.
Cudahy Police Officer Jeremiah Szydel and his hard-working dog Partner, K-9 Axel, willattend to teach everyone about the K-9 program.
Children will meet Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog, participate in fun activities,
and receive free party favors.
At 1:15 p.m., there will be a free children’s prize drawing for both a girl’s and boy’s
bicycle, a chance to win a Behind-the-Scenes Tour of the Fire Station, and also the
announcement of the winner of the Guessing Jar.
