The School District of Cudahy is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mallory A. Umar as the new Director of Curriculum and Instruction, effective July 1st.
Mallory Umar, pronounced you-mar, brings a wealth of experience and a passion for education to her new role. Beginning her career as an elementary and middle school teacher, Mallory has since held various teacher leadership and administrative positions, including Dean of Instruction and Associate Principal. Currently, Mallory serves as the Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction in the Racine Unified School District, overseeing instructional initiatives across twenty-three K-12 schools.
Mallory's dedication to education has earned her recognition on local, state, and national platforms. She has presented workshops for esteemed organizations such as the National Council for the Social Studies (NCSS), Wisconsin State Reading Association (WSRA), and Wisconsin Educational Media and Technology Association (WEMTA), among others.
As a Brazilian-American educator hailing from the Southside of Chicago, Mallory brings a unique perspective shaped by her personal and professional experiences. Her commitment to education stems from her belief in its transformative power, a belief fueled by her journey as a first-generation college graduate.
Currently pursuing her PhD in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Mallory is dedicated to furthering her knowledge and expertise in the field of education.
