The Cudahy Board of Education is honored to announce that, in a unanimous vote, we have selected Dr. Michelle Garven to assume the role of School District of Cudahy Superintendent.
With the collaboration of the Wisconsin Association of School boards, the Board used a thorough, systemic process to gather feedback from the staff and community, review the exceptional pool of candidates, and select the best candidate to lead the School District of Cudahy into the future.
Dr. Garven has served as the Superintendent of Trevor-Wilmot Consolidated School District since 2015. Prior to her role at Trevor-Wilmot, she held positions such as Director of Learning Services in the Grafton School District and High School Principal/K-12 Director of Curriculum & Instruction in Saint Francis Public Schools.
Dr. Garven earned her Ph.D. in Leadership, Service & Learning from Cardinal Stritch University and holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction from Alverno College, along with a Bachelor of Art in Education from Mount Mary College. She sits on the Principal Center Board of Directors at the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE).
“I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Cudahy community, a place very near and dear to my heart. I love the south shore and believe in its future,” says Dr. Garven. Dr. Garven spent many years leading the Saint Francis School District and is invested in the south shore community's success. She is excited to return “home” to a south shore district.
Cudahy Board of Education President Kari Durr says, “We were thrilled to offer the job to Dr. Garven. She comes with experience and expertise that is vital for the future of Cudahy schools.”
Dr. Garven officially begins July 1, 2024, but will begin to collaborate with Dr. Tina Owen-Moore and our Cudahy Administrative team to begin the transition planning process. Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Michelle Garven!
